About Us
Action Termite & Pest Control was started by my Dad, Jack Rutherford, in 1986. Since then we’ve grown from 1 technician to 8 certified techs, 1 ACE and a full office staff. Jason Sullivan, Operations Manager, is an ACE or Associate Certified Entomologist – a great additional resource for our customers pest issues.
Action has gone through many changes over the years from the services we offer to the equipment we use. But the one thing that hasn’t changed is our commitment to put ”service” back in the service industry.
To help make this possible we’ve added an insect identification laboratory in our main office. All of our technicians are certified by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and receive at least 40 hours annually of advanced training in chemical use, safety, and insect biology. We use products from a manufacturer whose name we’ve all heard of for the last 50 years, Bayer. Bayer leads the industry in safe, reliable pest control products and backs them with some of the best warranties in the business.
As members of the Michigan Pest Control Association and the National Pest Management Association, we have resources at our disposal for almost any pest problem that should arise. I’m proud of the way Dad established Action Termite & Pest Control and promise to hold true to his ideas.

The Master Certified Techncians of Action Termite & Pest Control
I’m extremely proud of my staff, from my Technicians to my office staff, we recognize the success of our company (and our personal livelihood) depends on the satisfaction of our customers. We are proud of the continued training that all of us at ACTION participate in on a weekly, monthly and annual basis. I’m very proud to announce that all of our technicians are now Certified Master Technicians after taking it upon themselves to complete a minimum of 24 technical courses offered by Univar. This desire to be as informed as possible is a tribute to the their desire to assist in your pest management needs in as safe, efficient, and effective manner.
